Meet Jammal Davenport, Safety Advisor for Peoples Gas. Coming up on his 8th year at Peoples Gas, Jammal is a testament of personal and professional growth. He started his journey as a field technician, then a damage prevention coordinator, and most recently was named Safety Advisor for Miami, Jupiter, Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Myers service areas.
As a safety advisor, Jammal implements safety practices and delivers information and training on a wide range of topics like emergency medical support, safe driving, and safety management system operation.
“People are my passion, and I care they are safe,” Jammal says, “I have the opportunity to contribute to one of the greatest initiatives in the utility industry. How I convey the message of safety and portray company values gives me the motivation to continue to think of innovative ways to properly equip our team members with the tools they need to take safety beyond the boundaries of the workplace.”
Jammal has also benefited from the company tuition reimbursement program by getting his master’s degree in Organizational Psychology and applying his learning to how he relates to fellow team members. He’s also had the opportunity to participate on strategy teams to contribute to company growth.
Jammal is a Miami native and married with two children. When he’s not working, he and his family are involved in community outreach. Thank you, Jammal, for all you do to keep us safe!
