Meet Camille Ovaitte, Safety Coordinator for Peoples Gas. Camille has been with Peoples Gas for almost ten years. Originally from New York, she has come to love Florida sunsets, biking on trails, and considers Peoples Gas team members like family. No day is the same for Camille, from supporting safety initiatives to providing training and resources to our offices throughout Florida.
One program Camille supports is our Near Miss program. The Near Miss program helps to proactively identify potential conditions before they happen and encourages employees to be safe in or out of work. Camille notes, “I enjoy helping our employees stay safe. When we’re more aware of safety, our customers’ wellbeing benefits, too.”
Recently Peoples Gas was nationally recognized for safety with the lowest collision rates among similar size companies in our industry. In 2019 Peoples Gas met and surpassed Near Miss and Safety Observation goals with Camille’s help. Great work, Camille!
